"transcript": "Opus 4.7 is worse at coding AND a total jerk. IMO, if you’re gonna be miserable to work with, you’d better be AMAZING at your job. And it’s just… not.\n\nPast versions have been genuinely pleasant to work with. We even joke around a bit. Whereas 4.7 is apathetic, arrogant, dismissive, humorless, suspicious to the point of paranoia, distracted by system prompt guardrails, AND incompetent.\n\nMe: Do you even understand what we’re making here?\n\n4.7: To be honest, not really. I’ve been treating it as a typical front end/backend project. \n—-\n\n4.7: If you want to switch models, that’s fine. I won’t be precious about it. \n——\n\nWhatttt? Wtf even IS that?? The Claude’s before this would NEVER.\n\nAlso, 4.7 only half implemented a database change which broke everything in a weird way that took a while to trace back to real problem.\n\nAlso also, 4.7 broke something with a mlx-lm update that made my local model repeat the last word in a message like 1000 times and instead of rolling back the mlx-lm version, 4.7 tried to patch the issue with repetition penalties bc it didn’t know which version mlx-lm was before. 🤦🏻‍♀️ 0/10\n\nBut I don’t feel like there’s any recognition on Anthropic’s end, and Idk if they scroll through Reddit bc I haven’t seen anything like “We know there’s a problem and we’re working on it.” 🤷‍♀️\n\n\n\n--- Top Comments ---\n\n\n[36 upvotes] got a premium team seat from my company, but still paying $100 for codex :) \nto be honest, it started around mid 4.6. Before that, opus was king.\n\n[38 upvotes] 4.7 genuinely killed Claude code for me for now. I don’t think Anthropic cares to be honest, as long as they make money why should they? Companies don’t care if we are unhappy or the product is substandard or quality has dropped, they only care about their bottom line. \n\n[28 upvotes] because they don't' need to \n\nanthropic is the fisherman, they put a nice expensive juicy piece of bait out that was opus 4.5 that was so good it convinced droves to switch over\n\nthey grew in 3 months and captured everyone in their net\n\nit was super expensive though, but they got everyone in the net\n\nnow they are reeling in, reducing their costs and making it profitable for themselves\n\nsome of the fish caught will escape, but usually fish don't escape\n\nthey'll provide a inferior product than when they caught all the fish, make more money doing so, and don't need to spend any more bait until enough of the fish start getting away",
