  "transcript": "I may be completely wrong over here, Opus 4.8 is the latest frontier, but I had a few sessions open with 4.6 , I thought 4.6 outputs were cleaner and more to the point , 4.8 tries to be more politically correct.\n\nFor coding I generally have MCP of all the tools I use, hence don't find much difference.\n\nI can be completely wrong here as benchmarks say different and benchmarks are more trustworthy than what I observe.\n\nAnyone else felt the same way.\n\n\n\n--- Top Comments ---\n\n\n[38 upvotes] regardless of any technical measures I find 4.8 is like talking to an annoying pseudo intellectual. If i met 4.8 at a party I'd move on pretty quickly. Pretty sure 4.6 wasn't like that.\n\n[14 upvotes] Just read a few posts and you’ll see much the same.\n\n[11 upvotes] I go further, February 4.5 Opus was the real deal, then they all got nerfed, every new model release seems like a scaling resolution and not progress/advancements as it used to be until 4.5.  \n  \nLazy 4.6 and 4.7 reaching climax, being me, on a bad day.... and now 4.8 just goes ahead on bad paths each time, way better than 4.7, heaps above it but still huge regression from 4.5\n\nWhile all the others advance and progress\n\n[6 upvotes] No, 4.8 seems less verbose, more assertive, and isn't as sychopantic. Which is good.\n\nI dont want a yes man. I want a critical analysis of my code that will actually improve it. \n\nIt also seems significantly more intelligent for low level programming.  ",
