  "transcript": "I'm in high school and I've been grinding exam prep. Used ChatGPT Plus for everything for a while and it was fine, but I kept running into the same thing. I'd ask it to explain a problem and it would either jump to the answer or dump a wall of text that didn't really teach me anything. So I refunded my ChatGPT Plus subscription and tried Claude.   \nBought Claude Pro subscription (since I use AI daily and I don’t want to be bothered with 3 prompts in 5 hours). It actually walks me through the problem. When I get stuck it shows me the steps, gives me the formula I need, and explains why that's the formula instead of just stating it. Stuff connects, so I end up understanding the concept instead of copying an answer down and forgetting it by the next day.  \nMaybe it depends on the subject, I don't know. I use claude code and take notes lets say using a book or course and confirm concept understanding with claude. I also have a custom prompt that refers to the database of materials as source of truth to limit hallucinations. It also has skill like generate q&a or anki cards. I use Obsidian to take notes so after working on a longer note or something im not sure I got full grasp on I pass the notes to claude to check if i undertood concept correctly as sometimes I misunderstand it and then it corrects me\n\n[7 upvotes] The education or learning (can’t remember what it’s called) toggle is actually genuinely helpful when breaking down a large concept I’m unfamiliar with\n\n[6 upvotes] ChatGPT in the past has had a toggle that you can select that puts it in \"learning mode\" or \"study mode\" and that helps with the issues you were having.  Type a backslash \"/\" into your prompt window and select \"study and learn\" to start it.  It should be more helpful that way.  That said I have in the past felt that Anthropic is a more ethical company, for a variety of reasons, and have suggested that my students might prefer Claude for that reason.\n\n[3 upvotes] Know this: Claude's terms of service dictate that only adults can use it. They've been banning a lot of people the last few months for it. And yes, because of conversations getting flagged. So careful. ",
