"transcript": "Just got the rejection from OpenAI for an L4 SWE role. Made it all the way to the final round. Got the email today and just sat there and cried. \n \nThe worst part is I have still have a chance with Anthropic, but this was supposed to be the one. I could almost taste the comp boost.\n\n\n\n--- Top Comments ---\n\n\n[195 upvotes] Getting to the final round of OpenAI is resume-worthy on its own\n\nNot srs but honestly srs\n\n[104 upvotes] Short story from an old ass dude:\n\nWanted to make video games since teens. Failed comp sci and sucked at art. Found QA and testing. Ramped skills and leadership. Learned dev ops. Worked for 10 years. Applied to Activision after some time. Name is on 2 COD games now and in many other popular casual games for mobiles. \n\nPoint being you'll get your Activision time eventually. Just keep plugging away. \n\n[102 upvotes] Not that my opinion matters because I’m in my mid thirties now and probably ancient compared to your age, but, trust me on this\n\nWorking for a frontier tech company is not really worth it. Time is far more valuable than money.\n\nWe can tell you’re very young because of the fact you think people actually care you failed the OpenAI interview as like something to brag about.",
