  "transcript": "I haven't seen a single post on this subreddit where anyone's shared their experiences actually using it, it's all just the surrounding bullshit about the controversy behind the way they're releasing the model. If this is you/what you want to talk about, please post it somewhere else.\n\nIf anyone has an actual experience with the model they've got, I'd be interested in hearing it. \n\nMy experience so far has been kind of crazy. On my first prompt, I  asked it for a holistic analysis of my 180+ page University level document on Japanese literature authors, it did a much better job than I've seen any other model manage to do, actually giving some substantiative feedback that will end up being very valuable to me.\n\nEdit: Just to specify, I was using Fable on max, which did use 80% of my 5 hour usage in one prompt, but was 100% worth it for the insights.\n\n\n\n--- Top Comments ---\n\n\n[72 upvotes] Its basically unusable for my medical imaging research, as it flags nearly all requests, even very benign ones like reviewing a paper or just some ML model fitting. I tried it on a few pure-algorithmical code questions without context and it performed very well there, so hopefully Anthropic will lower the insanely aggressive safeguards soon.\n\n[69 upvotes] Ok, so, I'm working on a journal article draft. I was using Opus 4.8 until yesterday. Now I'm running it through Fable. It's finding gaps and ideas I would not have thought of, and that 4.8 couldn't seem to 'see.' 4.8 is very 'literal' -- focused on local structures and edits. Fable is more holistic.\n\nI wonder if that will last. Models are great when first release and then become progressively worse.\n\n[51 upvotes] I asked it if the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell and it sent me down to opus 4.8 for asking about bioweapons. I’m not joking\n\n[34 upvotes] I just dropped our entire PLC program (L5X Exports,  from a $15m automation) into it and it developed, as far as i can tell, a perfect understanding of the entire process, found 5 legitimate bugs (things that have bit us a couple of times), pointed out some copy paste errors from commissioning...\n\nI don't think people realize what this is going to do to the automation industry, and how incredibly disrupting this is going to be. \n\nIt also correctly gave physical and manual correction and resolution for an issue we've seen a couple of times.\n\n[26 upvotes] I'd _love_ to use it. Unfortunately, everything I'd like to use it _for_ tosses me back to Opus instead. It's utterly useless for me.",
