When you divide that much money over a very large number of people you get peanuts.\n\nMaybe someday it’ll be that large and then maybe it could be more per person, but there’s a lot of people.\n\nEDIT: Before the Reddit winds achieve gale force strength- to be clear I’m for this plan in a big way. I’m just pointing out what’s realistic.\n\nEDIT2: OP originally had a comment on this that said “This is peanuts” or something similar.\n\n[21 upvotes] Andrew Yang 2020 wants his policy back\n\n[20 upvotes] It’s a start. We know that AI companies are barely making any money right now so it makes sense the payout is low. Bernie clearly believes that AI will eventually become the next big thing so this is a way to get in before we see the true effects of automation ",
