If ASI happens in the timelines some are throwing around (2028-2035) I think there will be a sense of “well now what?” followed by an explosion of work.\n\nUntil every piece of the system is automated, I think we will all be rushing trying to keep pace with the speed of discoveries and orders that will be coming in.\n\n[25 upvotes] Gradually, most people will be laid off, while those who remain will be left increasingly overburdened.
