They can have moments of pure genius that very few humans can match, and at many other instances be dumber than some of the dumbest humans on the planet.\n\n[38 upvotes] I work for an EDA firm and work closely with all these groups. Even with a lot of agentic and skill based flows, we are not even close. It makes so many mistakes and assumptions that it takes months of effort to get one flow working. And even that fails sometimes and the designers just get frustrated. Digital and verification is doing a lot better than ams or memory side. ",
