"transcript": "Let me clarify a few points. I want the AI machine god, infinite abundance, and insane wealth for everyone. I am absolutely pro AI.\n\nBut the current pace at which AI is progressing, exponential growth on top of exponential growth, is honestly making me shit my pants. I’m worried. Worried that I haven’t saved enough money. Worried about what might happen to my family if I lose my job, or if some terrible health calamity falls upon my family. But at the exact same time, I’m also incredibly fucking excited. One hour I want to accelerate straight into the future as fast as possible, and the next I want someone to slam the brakes and make it all stop.\n\nI’m just so incredibly confused because in an ideal world, what I want is pretty simple. I want everyone to be well settled, financially secure, and safe, and then BOOM, superintelligent AI arrives and provides abundance to literally everyone overnight. That transition period, which I believe could start as early as 2027, is what I’m terribly scared of.\n\nI’m afraid of a situation where AI keeps getting insanely more intelligent, but we get stuck in this supposedly temporary period of incredibly high unemployment, uncertainty, and people struggling to get by, and that period just keeps going forever. I’m afraid all the rewards we’ve been hoping for, the abundance, the wealth, the better lives, all of it, somehow ends up locked behind some insane paywall and unavailable to us peasants.\n\nWhatever the case, these are some really fucking scary and exciting times. I genuinely don’t know whether I want to hit the accelerator or slam the brakes. Maybe both.\n\nAhh the duality of a man\n\n\n\n--- Top Comments ---\n\n\n[156 upvotes] Well I just give up and make do, as this all is beyond my control. I spent a lot of time learning python, machine learning and pytorch back in 2019, now AI writes way better codes and trains better models then I do. My job switched from analyzing the data, tweaking model arch and parameters into running parallel claude code sessions and testing. It's only a matter of time before my boss realizes he doesnt actually need me...\n\n[88 upvotes] Ai will never provide true benefit to society whilst owned by billionaires. Billionaires prove their intentions to us daily and it’s not good \n\n[73 upvotes] If it helps (or not?), you don't have a say in it at all. Your desire to hit the accelerator or slam the brakes will contribute zilch to the desires of governments and megacorporations and national interests, not just of the United States or China, but of the entire world. \n\nSo I suppose we can all just go along and enjoy the ride. \n\n[42 upvotes] I gotta be real with you dude. I don’t think AI is going to result in anything you are talking about.\n\nThe people holding the reins to this technology are not talking about what you were talking about. They are talking about mass surveillance, war, subjugation, and control of information. Some of these people are terrible people, others have deep ties to people who are, brace yourself, terrible people.\n\nThey don’t want to tax billionaires. They don’t want universal healthcare. They don’t want you to have a PC, they want you to have a light client that access as a cloud that you pay dearly to access. For everything. \n\nThese people have openly discussed these things. It’s not an opinion. These people do not want the average person to live luxuriously. \n\nAdditionally, speaking in context of the United States itself because that’s where I live so that’s really all I can speak on: We have just put ourselves in one of the worst positions possible to scale this kind of technology. So now the only means we are going to have in the near future to scale this tech fast (everyones current goal it seems) is by taking resources by force. Which… is also being talked about openly. Its not an opini",
