It's all shits and giggles when this stuff is theoretical but when you realise that you could lose your job in the next 12 months and are not sure how you'll feed and provide shelter for your family in the years before abundance kicks in shit gets real.\n\n[36 upvotes] That's because more people are finding out about AI.\n\nHell, I've been pro AI for 20+ years, but now that we're getting close to AGI, I'm starting to understand the implications and have turned into a doomer\n\n[37 upvotes] I've had access to Astra for 2 days, and I am starting to get worried.  So are lots of people that have OAI accounts. It took things that were barely possible before, and makes them easy.  If no model was ever released stronger than Astra, it would already revolutionize the world. It's important to point out that while it could lead to utopia it could also lead to dystopia or extinction and we need to be careful going forward, without stopping but without rushing blindly.",
