"transcript": "Yesterday, when the Navier-Stokes breakthrough happened, the BBC did report on it - even having it as the lead article under their Technology section. However, they also then intentionally removed the Technology section from featuring on their main homepage and turned off any comments for the article - effectively meaning hardly anyone would see it. Even through this breakthrough is so huge that it's worthy of main headline news.\n\nThen today, the news story broke about the Anthropic researcher quitting, and the BBC suddenly decide to lead with this story under Technology, have comments turned on for it, and have the Technology section suddenly show up on their homepage again.\n\nAren't the BBC supposed to be unbiased in reporting and adequately provide the public with all important news stories? How is this allowed to blatantly happen and happen for so long. There is a potential clear conflict of interest from the people running the site, because they may fear AI automation taking over their job position and work, this sort of things should be monitored against. At this rate OpenAI could post a cure for cancer and a Fusion breakthrough and it would be relegated to page 6 where nobody sees it.\n\n\n\n\n\n--- Top Comments ---\n\n\n[1 upvotes] It's not just the BBC, it's happening across all news media and now the movie industry as well.\n\n[1 upvotes] There's a real hate campaign against AI and it seems to unfortunately be working alot of my mates are anti for the most misinformed surface level reasons they've seen on tiktok or insta. I personally think it's a use it or have it used against you type deal, if it got banned or heavily restricted to the public we would just be screwed.\n\n[1 upvotes] The Navier-stokes story hasn’t been validated by independent third parties yet, it’s a claim from OpenAI. If it’s recognised by the Clay Mathematics Institute it will probably reach the headlines but right now it’s unconfirmed.\n\n[1 upvotes] Because scary news convert to clicks and shares.\n\n[1 upvotes] They do it because there are no consequences for blatant constant fearmongering. And they'll keep doing it",
