That is almost exactly \\*\\*one entire century of continuous work\\*\\*. I think this really drives home just how massive of an advantage a strong AI + available compute are going to be: \"A country's worth of geniuses in a Datacenter\". OpenAI casually threw a century worth of effort at a problem, based on a rumor. The groups varied in size, and the group that produced the Navier–Stokes resolution involved on the order of 10,000 concurrent agents.\n\nyou're underestimating the resources dedicated to it. they tasked more than one group with the problem, and the successful group was 10k-99k concurrent agents\n\n[161 upvotes] That's only 1 of the swarms.\n\n\"A country of geniuses in a datacenter\"\n\nBut from what we've seen with multiagent swarms, it appears they mostly push *forward* how long it takes to do some tasks than increase the level of task that can be completed. And not perfectly efficiently - as in 2 agents is not twice as fast as 1 agent, etc.",
