Please\nwelcome Radek, everybody.\n[applause]\nHey.\nI'm Radek and one of the Open Claw\nmaintainers.\nAnd uh\nI want to talk what happens like in my\nlife with Open Claw when I practically\ngave the keys to my life to to Open\nClaw.\nUh and like it's almost like literally.\nAnd uh what that actually means. So so\nthis happens like step by step. It\nwasn't all at the same time, but\nit can access my emails, it can access\nmy notes, files, calendars, tools, my\noperating system. So automations and it\nbuilds on top of like memory of\neverything that I do\nuh\nat the computer.\nSo\nuh\nit can do anything if with it that uh\nthat is possible to do with the\ncomputer.\nBut\nit didn't all happen\nin one big like leap. So I install Open\nClaw and now uh it just like controls my\nlife and does everything for me.\n[snorts]\nUh\nthat that would be silly to do or like\neven silly to expect that this could\neven work.\nUh so what happened is that I I tried\ninstalling\nuh\njust\nlike like everybody does just like with\none channel. I think it's at the\nbeginning it was\njust WhatsApp. Then I migrated to\nTelegram. Now I'm on Discord. But it was\njust just WhatsApp, just\none ability to do to just like chat.\nOkay, so we are there.\nWhat's what's next that we can do?\nLet's let's do some like one simple\nworkflow or one very simple task that\nyou can do. Once we are there, let's go\nto the next step. So, this is how it\nhappened where I am today where\nI used to think that\nI have quite a simple setup with\nmy OpenCL and what it does\nbecause I never did any big change. But\nwhen I\nencountered different I don't know\nTwitter threads,\nYouTube videos, or talking to other\npeople how they have it set up\nI see that like my setup has everything\nthat they have\nmore on top of that and most also is\njust like more sophisticated than what\nwhat I see out there.\nWhich was really surprising to me\nbecause I felt that it's just like one\nsmall step at a time. I have a pretty\nlike simple setup, works for me, but uh\nthat that's what I want to\nto show how that happened and how it\nlooks like today. So, you\nyou already had like a lot of talks\nabout how the sausage is made\nhow we are making it better. You'll have\nmore talks about the insides of the\nOpenCL. I want to show how it looks from\nthe other side, from the first the\nsimple user, then power user. Now I'm\nalso a maintainer.\nYou don't have to go to the maintainer\nroute, but\nwhen I was playing like with one of the\nworkflows, I just encountered some\nerrors and just like submitted first PR,\nthen the second PR, then just looked\ninto Discord, and then you just got\ninvolved. Now I'm a maintainer there.\nSo, it's also was just like one one step\nat a time.\nUh\nSo, that that's the step of the These\nare the steps that uh it usually happens\nthat I see I see the need.\nUh I solve it in in a very simple way.\nUh and and then I add more steps to it.\nAnd this is also why I usually don't\nhave big issues that people have that,\n\"Okay, now it broke my computer.\" Or it\njust like completely bricked during the\nupdate. Because I have all these\nsmall steps that I take. If something\nbreaks, I just like step take one small\nstep back, fix it, see what doesn't\nwork, understand it why it didn't work,\nuh have a setup that it never happens\nagain, and just like\nthe take one step uh further again. So,\n[snorts]\nuh\nwhere it started being\nmore and more helpful and kind of like\nrunning my life is when I gave it my\nknowledge base.\nSo, I had a lot of stuff\nin my Obsidian,\nwhich I built up for years. So, right\nnow I have like about 3,000\npages or notes, markdown files in my\nObsidian.\nAnd this is everything. This is\nwork stuff, personal stuff,\ntasks, projects, research,\num what else? Articles, um kind of like\nan inbox of links that I'm just putting\nthere, and it then finds the the\nconnections, uh and puts it in in\nperspective and in context to to other\nstuff that I have.\nSo, all of that is now\naccessible through my open claw\nwith a very good search. I have search\nand memory. I have like normal search. I\nhave QMD search for for Obsidian. I have\ndifferent memory for for my workspace.\nUm\nand\nall of that is interlinked. And and and\nthat that's where that magic happens.\nAnd when I saw recently\nAnd that that's where it hit me that I\nprobably don't have a simple setup. When\nI recently saw Andrej Karpathy's uh\ntweet that went viral uh\nwhere he says about LLM knowledge bases.\nI was reading that and it's just like\nyeah, that's exactly what I have. Like,\nwhat's like super\nuh revolutionary about it. And then I I\nI understood that, okay, so\nI got there step by step. It works for\nme. So, it's probably\nprobably worth I don't know sharing\nsharing telling more about it, uh\nshowing how it works, showing how you\ncan get to that point as well. [snorts]\nUh and uh\nfor example, for Obsidian uh\nDo we\nYeah, this [snorts] is how the this is\nthe real screenshot of my my vault and\nall the notes and these are different\nclusters. Some are probably\nuh\nproject related like the big clusters.\nSome of the one off.\nUh these are probably more\nuh kind of like bookmarks.\nAnd\none of the tasks that I'm doing and that\nI have is that when I add something to\ninbox it\nthen takes that link that I add there,\nlooks what's there. It could be a tweet,\nit could be a thread, it could be an\narticle, it could be a YouTube video,\nanalyzes it, adds tags to it, adds\ncontext to it,\nlooks at what's already there on this\ntopic in my vault,\nhow it could be helpful in other areas,\nand adds connections to it. So,\nwhat previously was just like\nTwitter bookmarks that you bookmark and\nyou never go back to that,\nnow it just adds more context, builds up\nmy knowledge base, and is much more\nhelpful, and even surfacing the things\nfor me when I add a bookmark that okay,\nso you already had like this and this\nand this about this subject, and this is\nhow it connects. Maybe you should look\nat those notes. And\nvery often it's just like yeah, I\ncompletely forgot about that. And and\nthat's a good source of of knowledge and\nof thinking about it. Uh\nCuz there was the reason why I'm adding\nthis bookmark.\nUh so, that that's where it it it's\nstarting to\nuh to be super super useful.\nOn top of that,\n[snorts]\nalso\nuh\nat 4:00 a.m. like 4:00 a.m. is just like\nuh\nan example\nthat that I have is happens probably\nbetween 3:00 and 6:00, more or less. Um\nso, this this is what what is happening\nwhen I'm sleeping. So, when I'm\nsleeping, again,\nmy agent does everything so that it runs\nwell. It indexes everything. It backs\neverything so that worst case, I if I\nlose something, I lose maybe couple\nhours of work, of content, of anything\nelse.\nRefreshes all the indexes for for QMD,\nfor memory, for my Obsidian vault. and I\nstart fresh in the morning\nwith whatever waits for me.\nMaybe summary of the emails, of the\ncalendar,\neverything updated, the latest\nthe latest Open Claw version is waiting\nfor me, which also took like step by\nstep. I have some scripts around it, so\nthat it knows what to do and what not to\ndo when updating, what can break, why it\nbreaks, how to verify it before updating\nor before restarting\nyour gateway, so that it is able to come\nback online again.\nSo, that that all is also\nautomated, and as as I get up, it's it's\nalready waiting for me\nfresh and ready for me to start the day.\nAnd each\nOpen Claw is\nLike, I'm not a big fan of sharing like\nmy exact setup.\nCuz that exact setup is like very\nspecifically for me, for what I need\nright now,\nfor what I will need in the near future,\nfor like the errors that I encountered,\nfor issues that I want to be solved, but\nto give you some ideas, so that we can\ntalk more also about specifics and not\njust like in general. So, these are some\nlike five areas or five types of jobs\nthat my agent is doing.\nThe first one is is ambient operations.\nSo, so this is what I just showed you.\nSo, it it does all the updating, it does\nall the plumbing,\nit does\nall all the stuff that needs to happen,\nbut I don't need and I don't want to\nthink about.\nThe the second is attention filtering.\nSo, this is also super useful that\nbecause it has access to everything, and\nbecause it has\nall the content context actually\nso it knows that for example when an\nemail comes\nand uh\nit's something important or urgent and\nit knows from Obsidian what's the\ncontext and the background behind it uh\ncuz yeah I I I keep everything in\nObsidian all the projects about\neverything else so it then can\nproactively tell me that\nuh I think I have here so like these are\nlike three very specific examples that I\nhad recently\nthat when the system notices that\nsomething is important and urgent it\njust lets me know so like Netflix\npayment failure for some reason didn't\ngo through\nuh was fixed within 5 minutes when it\nhappened domain renewal coming up I\nwould probably miss that email\nuh but uh it picked it up uh gave me\ngave me a message on my Discord\nuh renewed my domain\nuh emails that can already be\nwith enough context given about the\nproject for example it can already uh\ngive like read the email\nuh understand what's happening\nunderstand what's already done within\nthe project and just draft the reply and\nit's already in in draft uh folder for\nme to\nuh accept or or delete or make some\nchanges so so these are some examples of\nlike attention filtering\nuh execution supports yeah so that's\ndraft synthesize is that\nuh the the inbox and these are on the\nright these are the channels that I have\nin my Discord that more or less relate\nto these types of jobs so general is\nwhere I have everything\nuh I just start the conversations uh see\nwhere it goes and if\nenough times I have a\ntype a certain type of conversation, I\nadded a specific channel for it. So, the\nthese are uh\nlike real screenshots from from today\nmorning.\nUh the inbox is where I just like drop\nlinks and it builds the knowledge base\nfor me.\nConsulting is for for for the clients\nand every all the backgrounds, it knows\nall the projects. Uh it's now knows all\nthe\nquotes, deadlines, tasks, next steps,\neverything else. Video research is for\nfor YouTube, for\nresearching what's what's out there uh\nto help me uh with with the next\nepisode. Uh briefing is for morning\nbriefings, Instagram for social posting,\nYouTube is uh for for creating creating\nthe the videos.\nOpen claw is for maintainer stuff, and\nthere's also one playground channel\nuh which it changes depending on day,\nmonth, or the need. Uh it's for testing.\nI usually test maybe a different model,\nmaybe a different\nuh workspace, different way of setting\nup\nthe the important files like memory and\neverything else. So, I just play there,\nsee what works. If something worked,\nuh I promote it. If if it doesn't, I\ndiscard it.\nUh and all of that works because\nit's not just uh\nit's a system that has many moving parts\nthat work well together. So, LLM's is\nfor judgment like understanding the\nemail, understanding the context, making\nthe connections. Then there are all the\nfiles, the the tools, the scripts that I\nhave built. The scripts are just like,\nif this happens, do this. It's done. You\ndon't even need judgment, so LLM is even\nskipped.\nUh and important uh is also to\noptimize your memory file, your soul\nsoul MD file.\nUh\nI have also critical rules MD\nuh because even if I had something in\nagent MD\nuh or in soul MD,\nuh it it still managed to to forget\nsomething or not do something. Uh with\ncritical rules, having critical rules\nhelps and having it\nuh mentioned quite high in the agent MD\nfile.\nUh so that that's also an improvement.\nUh I I went through a few different\nsetups of memory where I had one memory\nfile. Now now that uh I have like the\nwhole memory folder, now you also have\ndreaming where\nuh we have like promoting the memories.\nSo\nthis is important to work on these files\nuh and but it's easy to do in Open Cog\nbecause everything is inspectable. These\nare our done files, editable, you can\nlook at it, you can read it, you can\nunderstand it.\nUh and it work works well.\nUh what gets harder\nbad memory\ncompounds if the memory is not set up\ncorrectly and your vault, your nodes,\nyour memories grow to thousands, you're\ngoing to have an issue, so you need to\nactively work on that.\nBrittle automations, especially when\nit's like 10-step automations,\nuh it can break and it probably will\nbreak at some point. So it's again,\neither split it up into simpler ones or\nhave uh some guardrails uh that are more\neffective.\nUh noisy nodes, uh I'm getting rid of\nthem, uh cleaning\num cleaning regularly.\nAnd weak boundaries, so so those are all\nthe soul MD and everything else\nuh that the files that that are\nimportant to optimize for your needs.\nUh so, what I want you to take away from\nthis is that\nlike do what I did and then at some\npoint you realize, \"Yeah, this stuff is\nawesome and this stuff helps my life.\"\nUm start with one recurring pain, grow\ntrusting incrementally, build the\nknowledge base,\nuh move everything or like move as much\nas you can or as you want to markdown\nfiles and and start making those\nconnections.\nUh\ninspecting system expectable is is easy\nfor you done for with uh with open claw.\nUm\nand optimize for the future you.\nAnd this is what I want to close with.\nSo, a couple [snorts] years ago I had an\narticle about like the past me, the\npresent me, and the future me. And the\npast me is just like this\ncompletely stupid guy. He does nothing.\nHe's lazy.\nUh he doesn't want to do anything. So,\nnow I present me need to do everything\nfor that like past me. And and the\nfuture me, the future me is just like\nsome kind of like god creature. It can\ndo anything.\nUh that that that creature is like\num all powerful. And just like if I\ndon't do something today, it's fine that\nthat other creature will do it for me.\nSo, that that was the the issue and\n[snorts]\nuh\nthe job for me is to to\nbecome friends with the future me. To to\ntreat that as a person that I want to\nhelp with. And that's the job of the\nagent. So, I don't need to do as much as\nI used to\nbecause the agent just helps the future\nme as much as possible so that when I\nwake up tomorrow, it's like as much as\ncould be done but in someone else other\nthan me is done. So, that's that that's\nthe whole purpose of of this setup at\nleast for me. I don't know, it could be\ndifferent for you. So, that's what I\nwant to leave you with.
