  "transcript": "Hi, welcome back. In this session, we\nare going to explore the power query\neditor next tab. Uh but let me remind\nyou all the related videos which we\ncovered before is present on my YouTube\nchannel. You need to search my channel,\ncome to the playlist. There are\ndedicated playlist uh are there thousand\nplus videos uh you can with ease watch\nand all the content related material\nwhich means presentation slide code\nwhatever the things I used in this video\nis present on my blog\nfathersblogspot.com. You can freely\ndownload and use it. If you are new in\nthe channel, what are you waiting for?\ndo subscribe the channel to get familiar\nabout that what is going on in PowerBI.\nOkay. So, uh this time I'm using a\nsample data. Okay. This is the option\nuse a sample data and when you click on\nthe sample data it will load sample data\non your uh PowerBI\nattit to the previous one we explore the\nhome tab complete. Okay. So this time I\njust click on the transform one and one\nby one we will discuss. Okay. The first\ntwo option group by and use first header\nuh first row as a header or use header\nas a first row we discussed in the last\nsession the both option is present here\nas well as when you write click on it.\nSo this group by and split option is\nalso there. Okay. So we don't need to uh\nrepeat it as well. Okay. We already know\nabout that what is group by and use\nfirst row as a header. The transpose\nthat's a very important thing. For\nexample, I just uh click on the segment\ncolumn. So when you click on the\ntranspose, the column become a row and\nrow become a column. Okay, that is a\nmeaning of the transpose. Look at here\nagain. So for example, this is the\nsegment government. Okay, uh mid market\nand so on different number of the\noptions are there. And when I just click\non the transpose, so you can see that\nthe first row this become a complete\ncolumn become a first row. Okay. and so\non all the things that's the actual\nmeaning of the transform similarly uh\nwhen you click on the segment here is a\nreverse wrong so I can say that it is a\ndescending and in ascending order and\nthe reverse order are there so if you\nsee this one the product so I just click\non the reverse that that is start from Z\nto A onward if I just click it again\nthat is start from A to onward if there\nis no word A and B so that is why is\nstart from the C to onward that's the\neasiest understanding of the reverse row\ncount rows how many rows are there in uh\none column or the table you may say that\nso when I just click on the count row it\nwill just convert give me the value a\nnumeric value that is a count of this\nrow the 700 I just click it to cancel\nthis one so which mean that there are\n700 number of the rows in this dummy\ndata financial data okay now uh moving\nahead the type we discuss a lot of\ndifferent types the type say just right\nclick on the any column and there is a\noption change type so this is a changing\ntype data type option so it is also\npresent there you can change it as well.\nNow sometimes when you just import the\nbase data or the raw data so it will not\ndetect the original data type. So for\nexample here you can see that different\nnumber of the columns. So for example\nthis one is a 1.2 which is a decimal\ndata type decimal one this is a numeric\none. So when you click on the detect\ndata type so it will already detect by\nthe way but when you click it will just\nrefresh. Look at this. It will just\nrefresh the column that shows that\nactually it's a numeric data type. If\nyou want to change, you can change from\nhere or from here as well. We discussed\nthe same thing before. Okay. Uh the next\noption is a rename. When you double\nclick on it, it will enable to change\nthe name. For example, I just name it\nprice and press enter. Okay. Similarly,\nyou can uh do the same thing by pressing\nthe rename option. Okay. And after that,\nwhatever the name you want, you can\nwrite and press enter to rename it.\nOkay. The replace values is also there.\nFor example, right click on it. There's\nthe option replace value. uh whatever\nthe values you want to replace you can\nwrite for example there is different\nfive I want to replace five into a six\none okay this is just a option of the\nreplacement of the values right there\nall values are replaced similarly uh\nthere is a fill option uh what is the\nmeaning of the fill option when you\nclick fill up and down okay uh the same\noption is available on the right click\nas well if you remember that uh we can\nalso fill this option for example if\nthere is a missing value for example\nthere is no seven so If I just uh click\non this option and go to the fill. So\nwhatever the values at the down side of\nthe seven which mean that 125 will be\ntake place of the seven as well which\nmeans the 125 will be right instead of\nthe seven. The same logic will be used\nup which mean that 300 value will be\nreplaced by seven. Okay. Which mean that\nthe filling uh missing value by the up\nand down values. This is just option.\nOkay. Uh sometime uh we use this option\nto fulfill the missing values. Okay. Uh\nPE column that's a very smart column by\nthe way. What does it mean? Look at\nthere. For example, uh this is the one\nof the column. I just click on it and\nafter that I've just apply a pivot\ncolumn. What does it mean? Look at\nthere. Now the it will ask me about that\nuse the name in the column segment to\ncreate a new column. So I'm just taking\nthe segment with a segment with a sales.\nOkay. Uh there is advanced option by the\nway. Use aggregate function. You can\nchange it some average median and other\none. So this is a pivot column aggregate\nfunction. So I want to apply a segment\nwith sales using aggregate function sum.\nLet's\nsee. Let's click and here we go. So you\ncan see that it's apply a pivot column\non this business. But uh based on the\nbig table we can normally not understand\nin a proper way about this. So that's\nwhy I just use a dummy data very basic.\nBased on this you can easily understand\nthat how the pivot column work here.\nOkay. So there for this sake uh I just\ngo to the home tab again source file uh\nexcel workbook and take the industry\ndata. Why I'm just taking this unity\ndata because a very less number of the\ndata. So whatever the transformation\ngoing to happen on it we can easily\nunderstand that. Okay. Look at this. I'm\njust click okay. And now after that I\njust click on the role number and click\non the pivot column. Look at this. Now\nthe same role number I'm going to make\nwith a name. Yep. That's a smart one.\nAnd after\nthat count because it's a uh string one\nthat's a why it's a number otherwise you\ncan convert into a father income. Okay,\nsub. Why? Because it's a numeric one.\nClick. Okay. Huh? Ro number father. Look\nat this. This is option expression. We\ncannot convert the value null to a type\ntext. Oh, that's good. Which mean that\nthere is a null value on it. Uh so how\nwe can replace the null value? Look at\nhere the down I use this one and I use\ndown values as well to fulfill the down.\nGood. Click here. Go to the pivot\ncolumn. We need to use a further income\nwith this. and click okay it's not thing\nit's happened okay so you can see that\nname is here because I apply a pivot\ncolumn on the name and father uh sorry\nrole number and father income now so\nlet's go ahead you can see that this is\nthe role number look at this huh 1 2 3\n4 5 6 all the values are the role number\nplaced the column become a complete\nheader of the multiples okay and And\nafter that based on the based on the\nincome you can see that based on the\nincome values are placed here. For\nexample if I just talk about Ali okay\nAli role number is 1 2 3 0. Okay this is\na this is the Ali name and I just go\nparallel here and here you can see that\nthis is a role number uh in father\nincome for uh 46,000 and this is a role\nnumber and if there is a null value it's\nindicate that it's not belongs to this\none. Similarly, Harris. So, Harris if I\njust go drag here. So, the Harris role\nnumber is not this one, not this one,\nnot not but the last one. Here you can\nsee that this one second last and his\nrole number is 1 2 3 7 which mean that\nwhen you click on the pivot column it's\nrelated column is going to convert into\na complete header and the second one in\nwhich you are want to make a relation it\nbecome a value. So if there is a null\none which indicate that it's not belongs\nto this one. So that's all about in this\npart. Uh we will uh discuss the rest of\nthe other thing in a next session. Stay\nin touch.
