  "transcript": "Hi, welcome back. Uh in this session we\nwill resume the uh transformation tab\nfrom the power query editor. In the last\nsession we discussed about the group by\nto the uh pivot columns options and in\nthis session we will resume the same\nthing to complete I try my level best to\nmake you understand about the rest of\nthe topics. But before starting I will\nlet remind you all the related videos\nabout the power quy is present uh on my\nYouTube channel. You need to search it\nby the name of Fadus and CS cup toy\nchannel. There is a playlist a lot of\nthe videos are present uh in the\nseparate playlist you can watch it and\nthe material the content related all\nthings are present on my uh blog fadus\ncsbslogspot.com. So what are you waiting\nfor? Do subscribe the channel to get\nfamiliar about that what is going on in\nthis course. Let's start. So uh I'm just\nalready open the power query editor and\njust start from the unpivvert column. If\nyou remember that when you right click\non the optional we have already done\nthis thing. the unperiv columns is also\nthere. So the same three option is also\nthere. Okay. But I'm just adding in this\nsession as well. Huh. So for example, I\njust click on the row number and click\non the unpivot columns. I just click on\nit and after that you can see that I\njust click one column. That's why the\ncolumn the column heading become the\nattribute. Okay. And the parallel values\nare the row number individually. which\nmean that unpivot column which mean that\nthe column uh name become the values of\nindividual rows and the values are\nparallelly present here. Okay. If you\nwant to do the uh back to multiples\nvalues so you need to just select the\ndifferent number of the columns\nparallelly and after that just apply the\nunpivot column the same thing is\npossibly are here you can see that the\nthree columns name role number name and\ndegree programs and its values are there\nand so on. So I'm just uh cancel that\nfrom the applied steps. Okay. Uh\nsimilarly you can do the another option\nunpivert other column which mean except\nthis two which is selected before other\ncolumn will be applied on the same\ndefinition. You can observe that. Okay.\nIf I just zoom it all the columns are in\na unperiv columns value. Okay I just\nmake it cancel. Last one unpivot only\nselected column. So only the selected\ncolumn will be uh unper options as like\nthe first option. Okay you can see that\nthe both columns is now converted. I\njust cancel it. Back to the original\none. So, uh the table uh is called a\nuniversity data set by the way. I'll\njust make it university. Okay. I'll just\npress enter to make it uh rename. And I\njust select that role number. Okay. Uh\nyou can change the data type by the way\nthis coming from head. Move. Move. Which\nmeans that click and drag the area of\nyour column. Okay. You can drag it\nwherever you want. Okay. But uh there is\na option left right to beginning to end\nfor example left side you can move it\nyou can move it on the right side okay\njust zoom it I'll show you similarly uh\nto the beginning look at this is the\nbeginning and now and similarly to the\nend so it is going to show at the end as\nwell convert to list any values which\nyou want to convert into a list form\nseparately so you need to select okay\nonly first column only one column\nrequired here more than one column not\nto be possible to convert into a list so\nI'm just select the first colum column\nuh the second one and click on the\nconvert to list. You can see that the\ndata is now going to convert into a list\nform. Okay. And the icon of here you can\nalso observe it's a list form. Now after\nthat you can apply on the statistical\napproach reverse item. Okay. You can\nreverse this remove duplicates remove\nitems. Whatever the options are there we\nhave already covered is also allow you\nto change this in the list. I don't need\nto reverse it. Okay. I just reverse it\nthe value. Go to the transform again. uh\nconvert to list we have covered a split\ncolumn. Did you remember that on the\nright click option the split column\noption is also there by delimator number\nof the character position all things we\nhave already covered in the separate uh\nvideo session okay the same option is\nalso there I just show you delinator\nnumber of the character which mean that\nyou can split your column by any option\nover there for example the deliminator I\njust use the uh degree program here come\ndeliminator I'm just click and no look\nat this select or enter delinator which\ntype of the uh option you require to\nmake them separate the characters over\nthere. Okay. Uh for example, the colon,\nthe comma, equal sign, semicolon, space\ntab, whatever. Or you can add a custom\none as well. For example, the custom one\nis like this one.\nOkay. After that, split at leftmost\neliminator, rightmost eliminator, each\noccurrence of the daminator. These\noptions are there which option you need\naccording to the values. Uh quote uh\nsign if you need a quote sign, so you\ncan also apply it. Otherwise, make it\nnone. And after that I just click okay.\nWhen I just click okay, you can see that\nthe value is applied on it but it's not\napplicable because there's no inverted\ncomma other signs here. Okay, I just\nmake make it back. Okay, I just make it\nback here. Come here again. Look at\nthis. Huh? I'm just select this one and\nI didn't apply any options over there.\nLeft most deliminator I didn't apply\nanything. Look at this. The left part\nincluding the space is now separate and\nthe rest of the other character is now\nseparate as well. If you want to add\nsome more one uh which we have already\ncovered in a separate session so you\nneed to watch it because it's just a\nrepetition of the topic. So I'm not\nintentionally ready to repeat the topic.\nOkay. So all the things are in the\nseparate playlist are there. You need to\nwatch all of them. Format uh format is\nalso we have covered. If you just right\nclick on the option so you can see that\nthere is a change type. Okay. And\nthere's a transformation in the\ntransform all the option are there. In\nthe format this is all the same option.\nAll the same option. upper case, lower\ncase, trim, clean, add, prefix and\nsuffix. Okay, if you go there, you can\nsee that all the things are there. But\nuh few option is not there which is just\nvalue from here to understand this one.\nUh for example, the name column I will\nselect now and just click on the format\nadd prefix. Okay, which type of the\nprefix you want Mr. Mrs. Okay, Miss\nwhatever the things are there. So I'm\njust writing here a Mr. to make you\nunderstand dot and a space and then\nclick okay. Here you can see that as a\nprefixes data is added. Similarly the\nsuffix at the last we'll add it. For\nexample I'm just select the remain\nselect the name here and add this time\nsuffix and just write sahub. Okay you\ncan write anything by the way and just\nadd it. Okay there is no space by the\nway. So I need to add a space before\nadd. So I just delete this one. uh just\nselect it again suffix and after that is\na space sahub and just add it and you\ncan see that including the space the\ndata is added there that's cool uh okay\nuh the format uh as we discuss about\nthat extract that's a very important\nthing extract which mean that the length\nthe character the range okay uh how many\ncharacters you want from this specific\nattribute it is all already discussed by\nthe way but I'm just tell you the length\nfor example the name length I just click\non is so there is a uh data is going to\nconvert into a numeric form and it will\njust give me the how many character are\nthere in individual uh cell okay this\nbox which mean uh just bracket now uh\nsimilarly uh you can first character\nlast character range okay if you want to\nget a first character last character you\nneed to just click on it for example\nthis one uh count how many character\nfrom the first for example from the\nfirst side I need uh I need a five\ncharacter okay that's cool and here it\nis mr dot space A which mean from M to A\nthere are five character and you can\nextract it. Uh similarly on the last\nside you need to extract you need to\ntype the number range for example from 1\nto 5 10 to 11 whatever the values you\nwant. For example this time I need uh 5\nto 5 to 8. Okay let's see so 5 to 8\ncharacters are there. Okay I just pick\nit cancel here. Okay. Uh the same thing\nis also there. So you need to just click\nand apply the values on it. So you can\neasily understand that how many options\nare there. Remember that in the\ntransform tab power query editor it will\njust use for the transforming of the\ndata which mean that if there is a\nrequirement to uh extracting the\nspecific character data. So you need to\nuse the length first character last\nbranch uh text before denominator for\nexample there is a comma sign before the\ntext. So you can apply this after the\ntext there is a comma already written as\na raw form. So you can need to delete it\nand transform cleaning the data. Okay.\nSo that's why there's option there. So\nit's all about the data format. If you\nhave a uh this kind of the data okay\nthat's look like initially nasty so you\ncan use this man mention option to clean\nthis data. Okay. Similarly uh the parse\nform. Uh by the way we will discuss the\nparsing in XML and JSON form. Uh but if\nyou apply initially on the column so it\nwill show the error. XML is a format of\nthe data that is normally used for the\ntransforming uh transforming of data\nwhich mean transporting of the data from\none place to another place especially in\nthe application or lab base. XML which\nmean accessible markup language and JSON\nfor which mean JavaScript object\nnotation but initially if I just show\nyou the option for example I just click\non the XML uh remain select the name\nhere so it will show the error by the\nway okay uh same for the U JSON form I\nwill let you know about that how this uh\noption XML and JSON worker not required\nhere initially now the next option is\nthe statistics so we need a numeric\nvalue because uh we can apply the\nstatistical mathemat medical methods or\nfunction only on a numeric data. So when\nI just select this one, this three\noption in in apple. Look at this. Okay.\nSo this is a father income column. When\nyou click on the statistics, you can\nfind the sum of the value, minimum,\nmaximum, median, average, standard\ndeviation, count values and count\ndistant values. Okay. So if I just click\non the sum, look at this. This is a sum\nof the values, complete sum. Okay. Back\nit. Similarly, you can apply. Click it\nagain. You can apply the minimum value,\nmaximum value, median. Okay. Average.\nFor example, I want to find the average\nof this column. Click on it. The average\nvalue will be written here. Okay, just\nback it because I need to just uh apply\nand back on it to come on the\ntransformation tab to apply on another\noption. Okay, so you can apply one by\none this option to understand that how\nthe statistical value find only by using\nthis option. Okay, that's cool. Standard\nwhich mean that I can uh customize\noperation applied on it. For example,\nthis is a value. This is the value and I\nwant to multiply each individual values\nby some constant number or I can uh add\nthe number on it. I can subtract some\nnumber. I can integer divide number\nmodulo percentage or percent of this\noption I can apply. For example, I just\napply add here. I just click on it and\nfor example I want to add 50 in all\nindividual cell and I just click okay.\nAll the numbers is going to update. Make\nit cancel. It's back now. Similarly you\ncan subtract some values. apply on the\n50 subtraction from the values. So you\ncan update it. You can see that the\nupdated result. So so on you can apply\nuh for example the percentage the\npercent of modulo you can apply one by\none. For example the percentage. So I'm\njust write here percentage 10% each\nenter a percentage to apply to each\nvalue in a column. Okay the value look\nat this. The 10% of the values are now\nconverted here. Okay, the before is\n46,000 and the 10% of the 46,000 is this\none. Okay, and so on the values is going\nto convert. So I just make it back. Now\nthe next one here is the scientific\noperation. The scientific calculator\noption if there is a negative value\napply absolute on it to make a positive\none. You can apply a power of a square\ncube and power exponential logarithmal\nfunction are there. Factorial of the\nvalues are there. So I just show you for\nexample the square of the value. By the\nway, that's a very big value become\nmaybe infinite or the arrow showing up.\nSo, I'll just click on the square. So,\nokay, a square is working here by the\nway. But when I just click on the\nfactorial Mhm. Ah, infinite because\nthat's a very big value. It not be\nsupported by the PowerBI. So, this is a\nfunction there. So, you can apply this\nscientific operation to uh clean your\ndata. Initially that's come in your\nPowerBI platform. So you can clean it if\nthere is a statistical and mathematical\nfactorial functions required there you\ncan apply there. Similarly uh there are\ntechnometric functions are also there\nsine cosine tangent ark sine ark sine\narc uh cosine and arc tangent. So you\ncan apply these functionalities\nindividually on it the value will become\nconverted into okay rounding the values\nis also there which means that round up\nround down and round which mean that\nround down which mean if the values is\n1.1 so it become one round up which mean\nthat if the value is 1.2 2 1.1 so it\nwill going up to okay a round is also\nworking with the threshold if the value\nis before the 5432 it will round off\notherwise it will round up so these\nthree function is normally used for\nrounding the value for example round up\nall the values converted into up cancel\nit similarly round down all the values\nround down and the last one is the round\nonly it will make a threshold decimal\nhow many decimal places you need I\nneeded zero decimal places it just\nconverted into okay so you can use this\noption. Uh another option uh uh for\nexample if there is a even number odd\nnumber so it will make it cancel to back\nat original one good. So if there is a\ncolumn if there is a column and you want\nto find out how many even number are\nthere how many odd number are there and\nhow many sign numbers are there. So is\neven it will just give me the true true\ntrue which mean there is a all even\nnumber. If this is odd all the value\nfalse which mean that they are not odd\nnumber. Similarly uh if you click cancel\nthis one and go here there is a sign\nwhen you click on it so it will convert\nit into a sign same sign values all are\npositive that's why it's converted into\na one that shows a same sign. Okay after\nthat uh there is a more options are\nthere that is related to date time. So\nfor the date and time we need a specific\num columns in which the date and time is\npresent.
