"transcript": "Hi, welcome back again. In this session,\nwe are resuming the topic of the add\ncolumn in power query editor. Okay, in\nthe previous session, we discussed about\nuh custom uh column from example to the\nconditional column. Uh and the rest of\nthe topic we'll discuss in the session.\nBut let me remind you the related videos\navailable on my YouTube channel Fadusan\nCS. Just search Fadusen and come to the\nplaylist. Thousand plus videos are there\nyou can watch with ease and the related\ncontent available on my blog fadus\ncsbaspot.com.\nSo what are you waiting for? do\nsubscribe the channel to get familiar\nabout that what is going on in the world\nof technology. So uh in a add column uh\nwe need to discuss from the index column\nto onward. Okay. For example, you have a\ndata set in which you are working to\ncreate a interactive kind of the\ndashboard but there is no any primary\nkey related type data which mean there\nis no specific column in which you can\ncreate ids from 0 to one or one to\nonward. So there is a option index\ncolumn when you click on it. So there\nare three option from zero to onward\nfrom 1 to onward or the custom way. For\nexample in this demi data which is\nfinancial data set is available on the\num powerbi by itself. So I just click on\nthe index column from zero and I just\nclick a new column is going to add. I\ncan just double click and rename it and\njust click and drag to move the position\nthat is the column one that start from\nzero to onward. Now the next one is a\nstart from one to onward. Here it is two\nonward. And the third one is called a\ncustom which mean that from the custom\nmanner I'm just start 100 or 1,001 to\nincrement by one which mean 10,00 1\n1,002 1,003 and so on. If you want to\nadd a 2 3 4 values it will also work\nparallelly. Okay I just click on it and\n1 2 3 4 and so on. So this is a\nthree-way to add a custom number of the\ncolumns which indicate the unique\nidentity as like a primary key in a\ndatabase. Okay. Now uh the duplicate uh\ncolumn when you click on the duplicate\nfor example I click on the segment click\non the duplicate column. So the\nduplicate of the segment column is there\nby using the same option right click on\nit and duplicate column. Okay the same\noption is also there. Okay. Uh when I\njust click on the on the index okay this\nis the index column and here is a format\nokay uh there is a lower uppercase\ncapitalize each word trim add prefix and\nsuffix and this is the same option we\nhave already covered we have already\ncovered okay here uh this is format okay\nthe same option we have already covered\nso this same format option is also there\nso this is just a waste of time because\nwe have already covered okay now uh\nsimilarly\nuh when you click on the conditional\ncustom column okay and just right click\non it I can just change the type because\nI want to make it uh make it uh uh any\nspecific text okay I just click on the\ntext so it's now become a one data type\ntext and there is a extract when you\nclick on it you can extract the length\nhow many characters are there first\nletter last letter range uh text before\ndenominator if there is a comma sign and\nseparation site you can also uh separate\nit I just click on the length you can\nsee that I can find the length. Okay,\nthis is a column of the length is added\nwith respect to the conditional custom\ncolumn. Click it again. Here it is a\nfirst character. I just click. Look at\nthis. The count. Okay, how many starting\ncharacter to keep? I just want a five\ncharacter from starting to onward. Huh?\nLook at this. From starting to last one,\nwhich mean five character are there from\nthis one. Similarly, you can just click\nlast character. How many range you can\nalso apply? Just click and you can apply\nthe range. For example, 1 to 1 to 10.\nOkay, that is starting to ending and\nthere is one to end character. Zero is\nmissing. By the way, this index is\nalways start from 0 to onward. And you\ncan apply for the text before\ndenominator if there is a comma and a\nhyphen sign. So you can also apply if uh\nyou are working on those kind of the\ndata in which there is a raw form and\nthis data is not accurate and clear. So\nyou can use this option. Okay. The next\none is a parse. uh you can convert your\ndata into a XML or JSON form but\nmajority time it show the error because\nwe cannot create any specific column\ninto XML form but I just click on the\nXML so you can see that the errors\ncolumn is going to added which means we\ncannot uh directly convert data into XML\nbut when you click on the error it will\nshow which type of the error are there\nokay I just click make it cancel this\none huh and now the conditional\nconditional column\nthere it is okay the same option will be\navailable on the JSON. Click and the\nerror will be showed. Now the statistics\nstandard and scientific operation is\nonly available on the numeric value.\nOkay. Uh this is a custom column uh ABC\nand 1 2 3 that is a not right data type.\nData type should be a single one. Okay.\nRight click on it. Change type the whole\nnumber. Okay. It's now converted and\nwhen you connect here it is you can see\nthat the standard I can add a custom\nvalues on it. multiply, subtract,\ndivide, integer, modulo, percent of and\nperson. Okay. So if I just click on add,\nI can add any numbers on it. And for\nexample, I add a five in all individual\ncell. Look at this. All values going to\nupdate it here. Okay. The new column is\ngoing to add it and customize on it.\nOkay. Uh for example, I just apply the\nsame option on it. Otherwise, I need to\nback from here. Uh same for the multiply\ndivide. Okay. Modulo which models\nmodulus sign. uh percent of any value of\npercent and percent of you can write a\nvalues and you can change it. Okay. The\nscientific operation is also there\nabsolute value power square root and and\nthe same option look at this the same\noption we have covered here. Okay.\nUh if you go to the change type and\ntransform the same option in a transform\navailable and this same operation is\nalso there. Okay. The trigonometric\nfunction is also there a sine cosine\ntangent arc s arc uh cosine and arc\ntangent. The trigonometric function if\nyou click on anyone all the individual\nvalues become the part of the input of\nthe function sin 17 sin cosine 17 and so\non just click on it and you can see the\nnew column output okay just make it\ncancel click on it and rounding the\nvalue if there is a decimal point values\nokay if there is a decimal point values\nanywhere okay you can see that here is a\ndecimal point values so you can rounding\nthe value round up round down and simple\nround okay sometimes the threshold value\nuh with respect to the for example 12.1\n12.2 two so I just make it forcely round\nup. So this all value will be round up\nround down which mean the below the\nrange and rounding which mean that\nthreshold.5 if the values start from 0.5\nto above it's round values will be up\notherwise down. Similarly there is\ninformation uh information which mean\nthat how many even number how many odd\nnumber and how many sign numbers are\nthere. When you click is even which mean\nit will check if there is a even number\nit will write a true otherwise false.\nLook at this true false true false which\nmean even even not even. The same logic\nwill be used here. For example, I just\nclick on is odd. So it will give me the\ntrue true true all the odd number. If\nthere is a false which mean that it is\nnot odd. Okay. So look at this there is\na sign. So which mean if there is a sign\nvalues it will show the result otherwise\nit will show the one only which mean\nthat sign values are there. So that's\nall about the add column condition. uh\ndifferent uh operations are there uh few\nof the operations is disable the\nstatistics option is also working for\nthe numeric type only which mean that I\ncan find the average I can find the\nstandard deviation and other okay so you\ncan also apply this option over there as\nwell okay so it's all about the data\ntype if the data type is in right order\nso you can also apply the statistics\noption on it with respect to the date\ntype and duration we have already\ncovered in the transform tab this option\nwe have already covered in the previous\nsession. So hope hopefully you have\nwatched this session to understand. On\nthe next time we will discuss about the\nAI insight AI insight about the text\nanalytics vision and Azure machine\nlearning concept over there. Uh if there\nis any query regarding the uh this\nsession uh any operation did you uh not\nunderstand properly. So just write the\ncomment I will try my level best to give\nyou a right information about your\nquery. So if you didn't subscribe the\nchannel do subscribe to get familiar\nabout that what is going on in the field\nof technology in the upcoming days.",
