"transcript": "Hi and welcome. In this session, we are\ngoing to understand the concept of the\nbookmarks in PowerBI. By the way, we\ndiscussed a toggle button the previous\nsession to use a bookmark to create a\ntole button and how to use it we\ndiscuss. But in this session, we will\ndeeply understand the concept of the\nbookmarks and how many options are there\ninside. To proceed, uh let me remind you\nabout that the related content material\nis available on my YouTube channel. Just\nsearch by the name Faduscans CS come to\nthe playlist and you can watch and the\nrelated content material is available on\nmy blog fadusblogspot.com.\nSo freely you can download the material\nfrom there. So what is a bookmark?\nNormally when you read a book to marks\nthe page uh in which you present and you\nstart learning from the page number 1 to\n5 and you want to end today. So you just\nmark it fold the page sometime you put\nsomething inside. So uh put a paper put\na strips. So this is called a bookmark\nin a book. But in uh PowerBI we also use\nthe same concept in a digital form to\njust bookmark it. Actually I just use\nthis options uh to enable this options\nthere. Okay. How the UI here I'm using a\nfinancial data that is a dummy data\nsample data is available already in a\npowerbi. So I use this one and I just\ncreated uh two uh options here. Uh the\ntwo slicer. The first slicer is use a\ndata of the country. The second slicer\nis use the data of the product and after\nthat the ribbon chart and the table\nhere. Okay. Now uh for example I just\nclick on the product. Okay. And after\nthat I just select of one of the product\nname. Okay. And when I click as you know\nabout that it all the other uh related\ngraphs are updating with respect to the\nslicer. And I want to save this\ninformation under the bookmark. Okay, I\njust want to fix this one in one\nbookmark. So just go to the view tab.\nThere is a bookmark option. Okay, when\nyou click it, the bookmark is showing.\nThis is a previous two bookmark which I\nused under the tole button. Okay, I just\nadd and after that I just double click\non it to just write the rename word\nfirst. So which mean that the first to\ngo uh sorry the first bookmark is added\nhere by this constant. Okay, that's it.\nIf I just click again, disable, click on\nthe white background and after that when\nI click on the first one, you can see\nthat it's now updated every time. Click\nhere and and after that click on the\nfirst again, it's back. Which mean that\nthis is the first definition you want to\nsave some data as a bookmark. The first\noption is this. Okay, as like this you\ncan add multiple number of the bookmark.\nBut what about the right click? There is\noption on the click three dot. I just\nzoom it to show you in each bookmark\noption there is a three dot and when you\nclick on so these options are there\nwhat's the meaning of the update update\nwhich means that if there is any changes\non the current uh product which I just\nused and after that I want to change no\nI don't want this one I want this one as\nwell so it will update every time okay\nlet's see how so for example this one\nbookmark is reserved for this one I want\nto use for the first option and after\nthat I just click on it and update it. I\nupdate click on the white background\nclick on this one but right after this\nclick on the first it will update the\nfirst one because I just update my uh\nbookmark option using a slicer. Now the\nnext one uh here you can see that the\nrename uh the rename is which mean that\nyou double click on it and after that\nyou can rename it. Okay. And the third\none is the delete which mean that this\none will be deleted. What's the meaning\nof the group? group which mean that if\nyou have a multiple number of the\nbookmark so you enclose multiple number\nof the uh bookmark in one group as well\nhow for example the second bookmark I'm\ngoing to create here by the name of the\nuh filter of Canada so I just deselect\nfrom the first option and click on the\nCanada by the way I can use both of them\nbut right now in simplify I just use for\nthe Canada filter and after that I just\nadd and I just name it second is that it\nI just click on the first click on The\nsecond both are working. But I want to\nmake a group of first I just click on\nthe three dot group it. You can see that\nthe group option is there. Okay. And\nafter that I just click and drag second\none inside. So both are inside of the\ngroup. And after that you can rename the\ngroup as well. Okay. So this is a\nlogical behavior to just add a group\noption and you can drop multiple number\nof the bookmark inside. You can also\nungroup it. Just click on this three\ndot. There is a ungroup and all values\nare ungrouped here. Okay, the first and\nthe second both are separated here. If\nyou click on the three dot again, there\nis a option on data. What's the meaning\nof this data? Data which mean that\nuh data will not be considered to\nfiltering when the bookmark is clicked.\nOkay. How? Look at here. I just deselect\nit and after that when I click on the\nfirst you can see that there's a table\nand there is a graph and when I click\nboth will update it parallelly based on\nthe uh whatever the columns you used on\nit. Okay. But if I deselect it and after\nthat click on this three dot and click\non the data disable. It is already\nchecked. I just click it again to\ndisable and after that click on the\nupdate. Okay. By the way, you can uh use\nthe update as well. But if I just click\nit on the first again, you can see that\ndata is not updating.\nIf I just click here and click it first\nagain, it will not updating. Why?\nBecause you disable the data option.\nOkay, you disable the data option. Okay,\nI just checked it again. And after that,\nclick on the white background to disable\nthis one. And after that, when I click,\nso you can see that updated again.\nThe first option is updating. You can\nsee that because I just make changes on\nit and after make changes just update\nthis one. So whatever the changes it\nwill work display which mean that if I\ndirectly click on the display option\ndeselect. So display option is not\nworking. Let's see I update it and after\nthat if I click on the first you can see\nthat display option is not showing on it\nwhich mean that whatever the selection\nbefore I just added this one is not\nshowing but the filtration is working\nhere look at here when I click on the\nfirst one this selection is not showing\ndisplay is not work on it okay look at\nhere display if I just click it again\nthen update and now you can see that\nwhen I click it will\nNow the another option is uh is called a\ncurrent page here. What's the meaning of\nthe current page? Uh which mean that\nthis bookmark is applicable on only for\nthe current page. Let's see the scenario\nin which we understand the concept of\nthe current page. For example, I just uh\ncopy that ribbon chart. Come to the next\nuh dashboard page and I just paste over\nthere. Okay. And after this I just\nenlarge this one.\nAnd\nadd a button here. Go to the insert tab.\nThere is a button. Right arrow. And I\nwant to just fix a bookmark on it. Okay.\nGo to the properties. There is a action.\nOkay. Remain selected this button up.\nEnable the action button. And I just\nselect the bookmark. And the bookmark\nwhich I'm going to select here. The\nfirst one. Okay. Okay, there's two book\nbookmark by the way. Uh the first and\nthe second I select and after that I\njust hold the control button and click\non this arrow button. When I click you\ncan see that uh the buttons click event\nmake it just revert back to that page\nwhere the bookmark is added there or\ncreated here. Okay, you can see that the\nbookmark first is selected and the\nvalues are showing because I just click\nhere. Okay. Uh for example, I just uh\nclick on the second one and after that\nuh no selection are there from the\nproduct and I just click here and\nselection of this one. Here you can see\nthat the first bookmark is selected and\nshowing the current page. But if I click\non this three dot and click on the\ncurrent page option disable and then\nupdate this bookmark. Okay, click here.\nAnd now if I just select hold the\ncontrol button and click on it, it will\nnot working. Which mean that it is only\napplicable on that page where is\ncreated. Okay, that's why this disabled\nand if I just click to make enable this\none wherever you just call the buttons\nclick and other options it will just\nback to that page in which you have\ncreated and just assign some work on\nthis uh option as like uh click on this\noptions here. Okay. Now uh then the\nanother one is uh all visual. All visual\nare very simple which mean that uh when\nI just deselect it so all visual are not\napplicable on this filter. Okay. If I\njust update this one. Okay. So normally\nall visual which mean that if I just add\na slicer. So when I just use any option\nfrom this all other graph are uh\nselected from this filter. when I just\nselect another one all other graph are\nparallelly changing the values with\nrespect to the specified numbers of\nselection which you selected from the\nslicer. Okay, if I just update this one,\nso you can observe that it is not\napplicable for the all visuals because I\njust deselect this one. But uh when you\ndeselect the all visual, it is auto uh\nselection of the selected visual. Look\nat here. If I click all visual, so you\ncan see that not selected visual. But if\nI click on the selected visual all\nselection will be disabled. Okay, this\nwhich mean that the both is the inverse\nto each other. All visual which mean all\nvisual will be affected from the uh\nslicer or the other buttons. But what is\na uh selected visual? Selected visual\nwhich mean that if you just apply\nselected visual option in one slicer, it\nis only applicable on that one which you\njust added at that time and after that\njust update this one. After this one, if\nyou change the another slicer option, it\nwill not affect it on that specific\nbookmark option because you selected on\nthe selected visual property. Okay,\nlet's see. So, how selected visual\nworks? So, when you click on the three\ndot the last option by the way there's\ntwo option all visual and selected\nvisual we discussed the all visual. What\nis the selected visual means? So, in the\nsecond uh bookmark I just first click\nand deselect all. So you can see that\nboth are deselected and now I'm going to\nclick on the Canada. Okay. When I click\non the Canada with respect to the Canada\ndata is filter here. Remember that I\ndidn't click anything here. Okay. And\nafter that I just click on the three dot\nselected visuals. And after that I just\nupdate this one. When I update this one\nand just after if you click on it any\nnumber of the filters. So graph is\nupdating. But look at the observation\nhere. Huh? When I click on the first one\nagain. Okay, the filter which I just\nalready created the bookmark and then I\nclick on the second one. So it will\nremain same. It will not changing the\nactual graph with respect to the Canada\nbecause in the second one I just click\non the selected visuals. So this is all\nabout the option of the bookmarks uh in\nwhich we discuss how I can add a very\nbasic type of the bookmark and after\nthat we discuss about the create uh\nrename delete group data display current\npage all visual and selected visuals as\nwell. So hope you'll understand the all\nthe aspects of this session. Uh if you\nhave any query regarding this one feel\nfree to write a comment. I will try my\nlevel best to give you assistance based\non your query and do like share and do\nsubscribe the channel to get familiar\nabout what is going on new thing in\nPowerBI. See you on the next session.",
