"transcript": "Hi, welcome back in the PowerBI in this\nsession we are going to targeted the\nconcept of the filters in PowerBI\ndesktop. Okay, if you go to the view tab\nand under the view there is a very smart\noption called a show PES and one of the\nimportant option inside it it's called a\nfilter. You can see that there is a\nfilter options are there. Okay. So by\nthe way there are three way to using a\nfilter which I just observe in a PowerBI\neither in the PowerBI desktop or power\nquery a bitter. Okay. First uh let me\nremind you all the related videos which\nwe already done and coming days we just\nconsider the advanced one all available\non my YouTube channel come to the\nYouTube threshus and see us this is my\nchannel come to the playlist and there\nare thousand plus videos are there\ndedicatedly uh made on the separate\nplaylist you can watch it whereas the\nvideos content material is available on\nmy blog fusblogspot.com\nyou can feel free to download the\nmaterial and you can use it so what are\nyou waiting for to subscribe the on to\nget familiar about that what is going on\nin the field of the technology. Okay. So\nthe first thing uh to use the filter\noption is in the table view. Okay. When\nyou import the data inside of the data\nfrom any resources come to the table\nview and there is a filter option. You\ncan see that the filter is already\navailable on the data when you click.\nOkay. I just zoom it to show this is a\nfilter option when you click. So this is\nthe filter option. You can see that I\ncan filter the countries. There are five\nunique countries are there. You can also\napply the text filters which we already\nseen in a power query editor complete uh\ncontent course. Okay, if you search uh\nwhich I just already told you on the\nYouTube. So there's a playlist of the\nPowerBI we have discussed about the\npower query editor. But I just remind\nyou the first filter option is available\non the PowerBI desktop table view. Okay,\nyou can filter with the start with, end\nwith, contain with, doesn't end. Okay,\nfor example, I need only the Canada. I\njust click okay. The data is filter only\nfor the Canada. Okay. If you want to\ndisable the filter, you can see that the\nkey filter. If there is more than one\nfilter, killer all filter. I just click\nit. It's back. So this is the first\noption. The second one, if I just go to\nthe home tab again and click on the\ntransform data. Okay. And after this one\nhere, you can see that when the power\nquery editor will open, okay, it will\nalso allow to filter the record. Okay.\nLike this. Look at there. I just zoom it\nand here's the same countries column and\nhere you can see that all the same\noptions is also there with selection of\nthe countries. If I deselect all just\nselect Canada click okay and here it is\nCanada data. If you want to disable\nclick here and clear filter as well. So\nwhatever the option you want to apply it\nhere to filter and after that close and\napply the same format is available on\nthe powerbi after that you can use in\nthe visualization. Okay. So I don't need\nto anything. I just click close. This is\nthe second one. And the third one is\ncalled under the view option. Okay. I\ndiscard the changes. Okay. And after\nthat go to the view. And this is the\nfilter which I just show here. Okay.\nWhat are these and how we can use this\nfilter? Because we focus on this filter\noption is available on with your\nvisualization. Okay. Which mean that uh\nyou are not going to filter your\noriginal data. you are using the\noriginal data and after that you can\nfilter your uh visualization uh with\nrespect to this option. Okay. So I'm\ngoing to add uh one ribbon chart first\nhere. Okay. This is my ribbon chart and\nI'm going to use the countries on a\ny-axis and profit on a x-axis. Okay? Or\nprofit on a y-axis and countries on\nx-axis. Okay? That's a better\nvisualization because on the y-axis I\njust show my numeric values. On an\nx-axis the country is a string name.\nOkay, this is one of the graph. Now I\njust copy paste the same graph on the\nright side and I just convert this graph\ninto a funeral. But the instead of\nprofit I just drop a sales here. Okay,\nboth graph is very understandable uh\nwith respect to the country's sales with\nrespect to the country's profit. Okay,\ntwo graphs are there. Okay, when I click\non the uh first ribbon chart in which\nthe countries is x-axis and y-axis is a\nprofit, you can see that because I use a\ntwo columns only. So this two number of\nthe columns values are available on the\nfilter option as well in the country in\nthe profit. Okay, some graph required uh\nmore than one column. So when you drop\nit, it will also showing the same thing.\nHuh. Uh for example, I'm going to\nrepresent the sales as well. So you can\nsee that the sales values is also\navailable on the different colors. So\nfirstly we understand the concept only\nthe single by single values are okay. Uh\nso there's a countries uh you can see\nthat the country option is there on the\nfilter and after that I just click on\nthis arrow and when you click arrow the\nfilter option will open. The basic\nfilter is that there are different\ncountries all available. Uh I just\nselect all of them. Okay all values are\nthere and all counted out there which\nmean how many times this countries is\nrepeated. So I just select only the\nCanada and when I click it Canada value\nis showing. You can see that I just\nclick the France and Germany the three\nvalues are there. So which mean that\nbasic filters options are there. You can\nfilter the record. If you want a single\nvalue selection just click this one and\nafter that only the single value\nselection are there. Okay. As a single\nvalue. Okay. Don't need a single value.\nOkay. If you select multiple values and\nyou want to disable this filter, clear\nthis filter, there is option of the\nclear filter option. Okay, I just click\nto uh disable the filter option. All\nwill be back. This is the basic\nfiltering option in the country. Also, I\njust click here and you can see that the\nadvanced filter. When you click on the\nadvanced filter and you can see that\nthere is a contains which mean that the\nsame words doesn't contain contain start\nwith doesn't start with\nso if I use a contain okay so I can\nwrite here the contain which mean this\nword will be the part of my uh result\nokay so I just write here Canada\nokay uh which operation you want to\napply for example the only Canada with\nthe and operation or the or operation\nlogical end which mean this and this\nboth will be true or which mean that\nonly one condition will be true I just\napply only the Canada okay don't apply\non the second one so you can see that\nthe Canada word is there but the same\nword I'm going to use here but don't\ncontain doesn't contain I just apply so\nyou can see that expect Canada all other\ncountries are there okay if you want to\napply the or operations or and operation\nbetween them so you can also apply this\nor for example uh the\nFrance\nSo I just click here contains and I just\napply it to France.\nSo I just apply the filter. So you can\nsee that click here and apply. So the\ncountries Canada, France is there\nbecause the end operations are required\nboth will be true. So it doesn't contain\nand contain. But if I just take it\ncontains both. So both countries are not\navailable at the same time because the\nboth values are others than okay. which\nmean that in one column uh one cell\nvalues there's no possibilities to\ncontain the Canada and France both\ntogether okay that's why an operation is\nnot working here\nas like a same you can apply uh the\nothers option as well to just applying\non the filter options here okay this is\ncalled a advanced filter uh the third\none here is a top n which mean that top\nvalues if you want to filter data uh you\ncan see that the show item here the top\nfrom the top side from bottom side from\nthe top one I want to show the two\nvalues from the bottom one I want to\nshow the two or three values you can\napply it so I just apply here uh two\ncountries okay uh add field here by\nvalues as well which means that by this\nvalue you can show the result okay I\nwant to show the top two values with\nrespect to the product with respect to\nthe product uh with respect to the gross\nsales with respect to the discount so I\njust drop the discount values here okay\nand after that a top value will be\navailable so So I just click apply. When\nI click apply and zoom out, you can see\nthat top two values are the Canada and\nUnited States with respect to the\ndiscount values. Okay. From the bottom I\nwant apply. Yes, apply it. Okay. It's\nshowing that France and Germany. So you\ncan top values getting from this column\nwhich you use in this graph with respect\nto the by values. You can also filtering\nthe record. I can clear the filter from\nthis option. Okay. So these three\noptions are available in one of the\ncategories of your column. Okay, this is\na country. When you click on the profit\nvalues here, you can see that there's a\nnumeric values. So that's why there's\nonly the option of the advanced filter.\nNo other options are there because it is\na uh numeric values not a string one. So\nI can collapse this one, expand this one\nfrom here. Okay, there is a lock option.\nYou can also log the filter. Okay, you\ncan also log the filter or you can hide\nthe filter and show the filter as well.\nOkay, this option from directly you can\nsearch uh the selected column values as\nwell. You can see that I just uh search\nthe column name directly. So there is a\ncountry you can see that when I just\nwrite the country the column is\nfiltering here which mean that in the\nfilter you can also filter the name of\nthe column as well. we are filtering the\nvalues inside the column but here on the\nsearch bar you can filter the column\nname as well if there is a multiple\ncolumn are there okay the third one add\ndata field here which means that I can\nalso add another than this existing\ncolumn to to get the filter record okay\nfor example uh month name I just drop\nthe month name here this is not the part\nof my table by the way uh graph but I\ncan use this one for the filtering look\nat here I just add this one and after\nthat I just want a April data or\nDecember April and December\nvisualization in countries and profit\nway okay by the way the other things are\nthe same thing which we discussed\nalready okay\nif you don't want this one remove this\ncolumn okay I just click cancel this\nvalues cancel now 1 2 3 options I just\nexplained about that in the filter one\nthe fourth one filter on this page what\ndoes it mean it means that when you\napply when you add any column here this\nfilter is available only this whole page\nnot only the selected graph till now\nwhatever the filter I'm going to apply\nis only applicable on the selected graph\nbut I want to that column which I going\nto drop here it's applicable on the\nentire page how many number of the graph\nand visualization are here okay let's\nsee how\nI just drop the air here now and after\nthat I just use the basic filter and I\nselect the 14 you can see that when I\njust click 14 the both graph is changing\nobserve\n13 this value and this both changing\nselect all both changing okay required\nsingle value the same thing are here you\ncan apply so and I just click cancel so\nhere is applicable on the different\ncolumns filter options applicable on the\nwhole page okay but if you want uh not\nonly the whole page how many pages are\nthere in the entire project is\napplicable in all pages not in the\nsingle pages before it is applicable on\nthis page only. What is this one? I just\ndrop the uh air again here. But why why\nnot I just add uh two graphs more. Uh so\nI just name it filter one filter one. I\njust come here and filter dash two.\nThat's it. I just copy the both graph.\nOkay. And come to the filter two page\nand paste here. That's it. I just come\nto the filter one. So here you can see\nthat this is the first graph I just\nselect and after that filter on all\npages option is enabled. I just click\nand drag this one that same area because\nthere's two values. So understanding is\nvery easy. I just select the basic\nfilter option.\nI just select 40. You can see that board\nchanging uh there is a 16.19 17.28. But\nwhen I go there that's the same value\nwhich means that applicable on the both\npages. But if go to the filter one page\nand I just cancel from here. Okay. And\nthen select the same option on the\nfilter on the on this page. I just drop\nthis one here. And basic filter I just\nselect 14 only. Here you can see that 16\n19 17 28 but here is not. Why? Because I\nchoose uh on this page only.\nSo that's all about the filter option.\nuh how you can apply the view filter\noptions uh to the entire page on this\npage on the selected graph as well.\nRemember that when you click uh on the\nwide background which mean dashboard\nonly not on the type of the graph this\ntwo filter option is still there any any\nuh columns any values to filter this\npage or the whole page. So that's all\nabout the filter options. Hope you will\nunderstand the all aspects of the\nfilters and now after watching this one\nyou can easily apply all the filter\noptions under the view show pins\noptions. So see you on the next session\nto discuss about the more advanced topic\nin a powerbi. If you have any query\nregarding feel free to write the\ncomment. I will try my level best to\ngive you assistance on this. Do\nsubscribe the channel. See you on the\nnext session.",
