- **Hiro:** „What about them?"
- **Pierre:** „I believe that none of us are pleased with their services and I think we need to begin looking for a new partner. I've heard that Songa is really good."
- **Hiro:** „I wonder that others think. Have you discussed this with anyone else?"
- **Pierre:** „No, not really, that is why I am bringing it up here to get your thoughts and opinions."
- **Hiro:** „Yes, we should get other thoughts and opinions before we make such a large decision."

- Label unten: „Strictly confidential", „LEVEL OF MATURITY"

### Folie-Inhalt

**Titel:** „POTENTIALS – PLANT ANALYSIS ANTOLIN SILESIA"

**Spalte links (Text-Bullets):**

*Production Management:*
- Practices like adding extra inspection personnel (four additional operator) to mask issues with defective processes demonstrate a lack of adherence to BMW's understanding of error resolution processes and are not IATF compliant.
- Misinterpretations in the production planning system and disregard for setup times based on tool size indicate areas for optimization.

*Production System (Shopfloor):*
- Essential processes like complex press lamination and foaming are not currently available onsite, which could affect production quality and efficiency.
- There is significant potential for increasing automation in production, which could enhance productivity and reduce manual errors.
- Good KPIs are tracked in SAP, the visualization on the shopfloor is inadequate. Improving monitor placements and setting realistic internal target goals could prevent employee demotivation.

---

### Seite 1 (Bild 15.16.05 + 15.21.07)

**Titel:** „SPEXOR" / „– Sidney –"

**Vollständiger Text:**

> You are Sidney (49). Together with your business partner Robin (50) you've been working on the project SPEXOR, a web-based CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system with some unique features. You'll have to make a critical decision about it.
>
> …
>
> You started your career nearly 30 years ago, working for a large organization as an operations manager. For over 20 years, you climbed the corporate ladder. You felt that this would give you a sense of satisfaction. It didn't as much as you hoped. You were looking for a new and exciting adventure.
>
> Then, nearly 10 years ago, your old classmate Robin gave you that opportunity. He was a serial entrepreneur with some moderate successes and manageable failures under her/his belt. You agreed partner with Robin to establish KOVAN Safety Inc., which imports, sells, and maintains security systems for large, commercial buildings.
>
> The business started slow. You oversaw all day-to-day operations, while Robin was in charge of the idea building and marketing. After several failed bids, projects started coming in. Within several years the company was employing dozens of employees at the headquarters and managing partnerships that involved hundreds of people.
>
> KOVAN was eventually sold to an international electronics company. You and Sidney were given a considerable sum for your shares and remained at the helm as CEO and COO respectively, with a competitive salary. You were happy in your new position. Your work didn't change much, except you felt less responsibility on your shoulders. With your newly earned cash, you invested in the house of your dreams and moved in. Overall, you were content with your situation.

### Seite 2 (Bild 15.21.16)

**Vollständiger Text:**

> Then Robin told you that s/he intends to quit to start a new business. S/He was an entrepreneur at heart and couldn't take being a "regular" manager anymore. With great enthusiasm, s/he told you about a web-based, machine learning (ML) powered CRM system, with which s/he wished to revolutionize the SME market.
>
> You were reluctant to join the project. It's true that you faced struggles at KOVAN with your CRM system. The available systems could definitely be improved. Robin's idea was interesting and alluring, at least on paper. While you weren't sure if you wanted to start over again, considering your success in your previous endeavor and Robin's passion, you eventually decided to join in. You quit your position and started managing the operations of this new company that Robin named SPEXOR.
>
> After a series of meetings, you both projected that an investment of 300K USD from each should be enough to build and sell a first viable version of the software. Once again, things started slow. You had to hire many developers and rent an office. Working long hours, you became increasingly anxious about how things are not progressing. But as always, Robin was there to calm your nerves.
>
> After a while, it became evident that the initial investment wouldn't cut it. Upon further discussions, you decided to invest another 100K each out of pocket. You did not foresee such an added expense, but the company clearly needed the funds, especially now that you had a possible client. Robin had managed to convince a small company to use your product. They only paid a symbolic fee for the current version, but this gave you the ability to test it.

---

### Seite 3 (Bilder 15.21.27 + 15.21.33 — nahezu identisch)

**Vollständiger Text:**

> The test was indeed useful. The idea proved to be valuable, but there still were significant glitches in the system. It turns out, you had to invest even more to get these fixed. So, Robin asked if you both should invest 100K more, on top of the additional investment you just made.
>
> You had spent most of your cash for your house. You didn't want to liquidate some of your other investments to be able to keep financing SPEXOR. You were not involved in the details of the software development, but from what you could observe from your position as an operations manager is that you'll eventually need millions to build the system Robin envisions. You either need to pivot to a simpler product, with much less cost, or quit building it altogether. With the expertise you gained until this point, you could always provide consultancy on how to better build and use CRM and similar systems, which would still be valuable, without the constant investment in product development.
>
> At that very moment, Robin came to you with good news. A medium-sized retail company named COLLECT was interested in buying your product. They would potentially pay 300K, which would return some of your investments. This could also be a good reference that would fuel future sales. Moreover, Robin personally knew their CTO, who ensured that they'd indeed buy the product. So, you agreed to invest 100K more to be fully prepared for your offer and service to COLLECT.
>
> Everything was going well with COLLECT, until something unexpected happened at the very last moment. The CTO declared that she'll go with another product instead, one that produced by IT giant BIZZY. It's surprising, since their product was "dumber," service was inferior, and price was higher. Robin was also shocked by this news.

**Vollständiger Text:**

> Eventually, you learned that BIZZY is engaging in aggressive competition: They seem to be lowering their prices below their costs to gain market share and drive the competition out. They have also been making promises about customization that they most likely won't be able to keep. But you have no way of proving these allegations. The CTO explains that she can't justify SPEXOR to her CEO under these circumstances. She has to go with BIZZY.
>
> You're going to the office to talk to Robin.
>
> ■ You're almost sure that further investments will be needed to stay afloat. But this doesn't feel sustainable. Robin must acknowledge that your initial estimations were way off. Ideally, you should have stopped or at least heavily pivoted after your very first investment didn't show expected results.
>
> ■ Robin told you over the phone that there are some good news as well. You'll have to ask to learn more, but you suspect that there are other prospective clients, who might be interested in the product, which would keep Robin's hopes alive.
>
> You and Robin now must decide on how to proceed.
